New Patients

Our friendly team is always eager to welcome new patients to the practice. We are very proud of the fact that our existing patients often recommend us to their friends, family and work colleagues. In fact, the majority of our new patients have resulted from personal referrals.

We strongly believe that you are more than just a set of teeth.

Good dental health is an integral part of your general well-being. With this in mind, as well as the usual tips on effective brushing and flossing, we can also offer advice on diet and stopping smoking.

Should any treatment be required, we promise to provide you with a clear written estimate and treatment plan.

Your dentist will always discuss any proposed treatment with you, as well as alternative options available, and will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Your First Appointment

Your first appointment will last around 30 minutes. This time will enable your dentist to thoroughly check the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums, as well as a host of other aspects of your oral health – all of which influence your general well-being. This appointment will include:

Payment for Treatment

Payment can be made by cash, Visa or Mastercard credit card or debit card or through a financial arrangement by which you can spread payments.

Appointment Management and Cancellation Policy

It is the aim of this practice to provide quality dental care to our patients on schedule and to use clinical time effectively. To achieve this aim, we have an appointment management and cancellation policy.

Management of appointments

Patients can contact us by telephone on 01491 872394 and we utilise an answerphone system out of hours and during busy times during the working day.  Additionally, we can be contacted by email at reception@boathousedental.co.uk which allows our patients to make or reschedule appointments easily.

Cancellation or delay of an appointment by the Practice

We will only cancel or delay a patient’s appointment in unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, we will take the following steps:

Reminders

Text reminders are sent to patients 2 days before any appointment and patients are requested to inform the practice of any changes to their contact details.

Cancellation of an appointment

Patients are requested to give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel a dental appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may represent a cost to the practice, when other patients could have been seen in the time set aside for the patient.

There is a fee for private dental appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. This fee will equate to £35.00 per 15 minutes of clinical time lost.  This should be cleared prior to another appointment being made.  We reserve the right to refuse to see any patient who repeatedly fail to attend or cancel at short notice.

It is our aim to telephone or email patients after a missed appointment to understand the reason for non-attendance and to inform them about any fee payable.  We understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable and we will take account of all valid circumstances.

Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions by a patient should be made in writing to the Practice Owner, Dr Atul Kothari.
